			How America Grew presents a picture of how American grew from the original thirteen colonies to a world power with holdings from the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean. The story begins with Daniel Boone blazing a trail across the Appalachian Mountains in 1775 to open the way for westward expansion. It ends with the opening of the Panama Canal in 1914, creating a much needed link between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
